Do You Day Dream About Design?  Have An Eye For Grouping Just The Right Pieces Together?  Enjoy Creating The Perfect Table For Holidays, Parties Or Just Because It's Tuesday? Come Show Off Your Skills At Our First-Ever Tablescaping Competition To Be Held During â€‹Finders Harvest Market Sep 19, 2026! 

 

And the timing couldn't be better!  With Holiday gatherings and celebrations with friends & family just around the corner from our Fall show, hosts will welcome stylish design inspiration to help them create memorable, artfully decorated dining experiences.

COMPETITION OVERVIEW     

  • Market Date - Saturday, Sep 19.  Hours - 9am-3pm

  • Location - Finders Harvest Market at Progress City, 1 College Park, Decatur, IL 

  • Participant Arrival/Check-In/Setup - Friday, Sep 18  between 12 Noon - 6pm. Must be fully set up by 6pm

  • Tablescape Designs will be on display for public viewing for the duration of Finders Harvest Market

  • Public Voting - Saturday, Sep 19 between 9am-1pm 

  • Winners Announced - Approximately 1:30 pm

  • Take down - 3pm - 5pm Saturday following the close of market. 

  • A maximum of 15 participants will be accepted. Must be 18 or older 

  • Participants may have up to 1 additional person assist with setup. 

  • Entry Fee is $20. Includes reserved competition display space, 2 entry tickets to Finders Harvest Market, Exclusive early entry/shopping, opportunity to connect with other creatives and hundreds of potential "I'd love to hire you" clients! 

  • Winners will be selected by peoples choice voting (Market shoppers)

  • Prizes: 

    • 1st Place - Ribbon + $200 Market Cash to spend on unique goods at the vendor booths of your choice

    • 2nd Place - Ribbon + $50 Market Cash

    • 3rd Place - Ribbon + $25 Market Cash​

PARTICIPANT DETAILS & GUIDELINES     

  • Each participant will be assigned an empty space for their tablescape inside one of the pole barns (concrete floors) 

  • Each participant must bring a 36"x36" square table (folding table/game table) along with all items needed for your design (tablecloths/fabrics, dishes, centerpieces, flatware, drinkware, florals, decor, props)  

  • ​​Participants will need to include their design concept with the application. examples:  Mid-century modern, Victorian Tea Party, In the Country, Lets Go Camping, Retro Revival, French Bistro, Cozy Fall, Winter Wonderland, etc  No Halloween themed designs 

  • Since this will run alongside Finders Harvest Market, we encourage the use of some vintage, vintage inspired and/or handmade elements within your table top designs  

COMPETITION RULES      

  • Participants must register in advance by completing the application linked below. 

  • Participants will need to bring a 36"x36" square standard sized folding/game table. 

  • LED candles and lighting is fine. No electricity is available. 

  • Displays may Not include

    • Real food or liquids

    • Open flames, lit candles, hazardous materials

    • No free standing items besides the table are permitted - chairs, rugs, etc

  • Display must include a table setting for 2 guests (dinnerware, flatware, drinkware, etc)

  • No disposable tableware is permitted (unless pre-approved for design concept)

  • All designs must remain on display for the entire market duration until 3pm. No early removal is permitted.  Please Note: Finders Market is not responsible for any broken, damaged, lost or stolen items.

  • Finders Market reserves the right to reject any application or design that is objectionable or unsuitable.

  • Finders Market reserves the right to adjust displays as needed for safety, event flow or compliance.

  • Displays must be taken down and removed by 5pm on market day, Sat, Sep 19. 

MEDIA RELEASE & LIABILITY WAIVER

By participating in the Tablescape Competition, you agree to the following: â€‹

  • ​You consent to being photographed, filmed or interviewed. Your display, name and likeness may be used by Finders Market in any promotional materials, including social media, print and digital platforms

  • You are solely responsible for your personal items and materials. You agree to hold Finders Market, Brush College LLC and/or any of it's staff or crew blameless for any loss, damage or theft. 

  • Participation is voluntary and at your own risk. Finders Market, Brush College LLC and/or any of it's employees, or crew assume no liability for injury, property damage or unforeseen incidents. Participants are encouraged to insure their entry privately if they need such protection.
